The year should be 2014

A time when the chaos lived fearlessly and vividly.

Reminiscing the city of untamed culture and beauty

where the shade of pink exuberates in every corner

Rightly named so, synonymous to the souls of the people here

Welcoming, joyous, and full of life.

The Havelis, the forts , the glitter, and the mirror glaze

The music, the laughter, and the daal baati churma craze.

This zest adds into the cheer that this city beholds you like a hug

but the iconic character in this story has to be this rather young man we met.

With the aura of humor and impeccable joy

who volunteered to vivaciously take us around the city in his 3 wheeled Ferrari.

Aah, what a beauty that was!

The rick was decorated like a bride to this gentleman

who was dressed traditionally with the strongest Rajasthani accent one could find.

He spoke to us in diluted Hindi about his love for the city

And even spoke about how his sisters did the finest bandhani one couldn’t dare to bargain for.

Adamant was he in making us try the best sweets that he even joked with a smirk,

“It is worth missing your bus to Delhi”.

Neither did we miss our next ride nor did the young gentleman’s enthusiasm

to show us around Jaipur on our very last day disappoint us.

Maybe this is the warmth that makes everything so inviting here

That even the idea of strangeness takes a bow and tiptoes into the dark.

For certain, not every laugh in the room accompanies positive vibes

nor does every gloomy ambiance vouch for fear.

But opening hearts as wide as doors can sometimes ticket you to paths

which otherwise you could have never ventured alone…
